This exhibition will be juried by fiber artists and educators Yeonhee Cheong, Heather Kohlmeier, and Deb Menz; see below for more information about our jurors.
There is NO fee and you do NOT have to be a member to apply.
Notification of INVITED or NOT INVITED will be sent via email after the jurying has been completed, which will be the week of September 9, 2024. Email notifications will list each artwork as Invited or Not Invited. Please check your SPAM.
Artists may submit up to three individual works of art. Enter only full images, NO detail, close-ups, or alternate view images will be accepted. Detail images will not be accepted or considered by the jurors. Poor photography may result in poor juror scores. Images should appear with a flat neutral background. Natural daylight or professional studio lights produce the best images. Images must reflect the work with a straight-on view. If you choose to use a model, the model should not distract from the piece.
Images must be 5MB or less. There are no dimension restrictions.
Artist statements must be 120 words or less for each entry.
The information entered into the application form is the information that will be used in all print and digital mentions and on social media. Be succinct and concise with your artist statement.
Artwork must be hand delivered to TAC. TAC will NOT accept work shipped to TAC, nor will TAC return ship artworks.

About the Jurors:
Yeonhee Cheong
Yeonhee Cheong is a Madison, WI-based visual artist who explores the visual language of human bodies in society through various media, including painting, printmaking, and fiber art. Born in South Korea, she studied fashion design at Seoul National University and the Fashion Institute of Technology. Cheong initially worked as a fashion designer before pursuing an MFA in Design Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Cheong has been invited to participate in national and international exhibitions such as those organized by the Surface Design Association, International Textile Apparel Association, Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, Overture Center for the Arts, Art and Literature Laboratory, Artistry (Minneapolis), and InKo Center (Chennai, India). She has received several honors, including being awarded the Forward Art Prize of the Women Artists Forward Fund, and winning the Best of Show award from the Clotheshorse Show at the Indianapolis Art Center. Additionally, she secured a juried public art commission for an installation at the Pinney branch of Madison Public Library.
Heather Kohlmeier
Heather Kohlmeier is an artist, papermaker, and educator. Process and material are central to her making practice and inspire her creation of both functional and sculptural forms. These forms are often a study of translucency and are nature inspired.
Kohlmeier has broad teaching experience in textile and fiber arts including papermaking, indigo dyeing, surface embellishment, and textile design. She has shown work nationally and internationally and has been published in Hand Papermaking Magazine. She is co-founder and Artistic Director of the Textile Arts Center of Madison.
Deb Menz
Deb Menz has pursued textiles as a profession for over 40 years. Her obsession with color began her journey, starting with weaving and spinning. From there she expanded her skills to include dyeing, tapestry weaving, paper making, stitching, machine stitching, and quilting.
Menz has made many contributions to the field of fiber arts. She has exhibited her work nationally, and taught across the US and Canada for the last 30 years. She has authored two books, Color in Spinning and Color Works, both published by Interweave Press; written numerous magazine articles; and produced several educational videos. Menz has also been a judge for multiple Wisconsin county fairs and has juried many fiber art guild exhibitions.
