Mending Workshop with Fibershed Heartland: Hand Sewing Patches

Class level: Beginners and up. All are welcome.
Age requirements: 18 and older, or accompanied youth
Instructors: Fibershed Heartland Volunteers
Class fee: FREE
Keep your clothes out of the landfill and extend the life of beloved items. Wearing a piece of clothing for an additional nine months can reduce the footprint of that item by 20%.
This workshop with Fibershed Heartland will focus on teaching hand sewing techniques to patch knit or woven fabric (invisible repair or creative/visible mending).
Everyone is welcome. No experience necessary. Advanced registration is appreciated so we know how many are coming.
What to bring:
Item(s) that need mending
If you’re hoping for an exact color match to your item needing mending, bring your own thread and/or fabric for patching.
All other tools and assorted patching material and thread will be provided.
